Making a Difference Together! Join Us!

During June we are working to prepare the Pollinator Pedestrian Access Garden Pilkington to Santamonica to become an environmentally-friendly garden that will host butterflies, native flowers and shrubs, and beautify our neighbourhood.

We need your help, knowledge, and positive vibes to make this project a reality! We will be on-site and invite you to join us:

TODAY! Friday June 3, 9am - 11am
Saturday June 4, 10am - 12pm
Sunday June 5, 2pm - 4pm

Meet at the Pollinator Pathway between Pilkington and Santamonica.
If you don't have tools, that's okay, you can borrow ours!

See the pictures below for the amazing difference we can make when we work together! These are some before and after images:

Chip in! (literally spreading wood chips)

For this garden we are using a really cool and easy garden bed preparation called "lasagna gardening". This method uses cardboard and woodchips to kill unwanted weeds and grass, is eco-friendly, avoids the use of pesticides or chemicals, and keeps nutrients in the soil. Lasagna gardening will prepare the soil for planting native perennials plants. We have a big pile of woodchips ready to go near the path.

Join us, it's easy! Dates again are:

TODAY! Friday June 3, 9am - 11am
Saturday June 4, 10am - 12pm
Sunday June 5, 2pm - 4pm
